Retford & District Branch would like to thank every one who donated to the 2024 Poppy Appeal in the Retford & District area. The amount raised currently stands at £47,775.24p which is gratefully received.

Poppy People

Each year, in early November some 30,000 Legion volunteers take to the streets with poppies and collecting boxes, raising millions of pounds for the Poppy Appeal.

The money collected at this time and from numerous other fundraising activities throughout the year, goes to providing help and support to serving and ex-Service men and women and their dependents.

We always need new volunteers - Poppy People - to assist with Poppy Appeal collecting in Retford and district.  We fund raise all year round, not just in November.

Without volunteer collectors out there on the streets and appeal organisers planning the collections, this great cause that helps thousands of ex-Service men and women every year would grind to a halt.

We urgently need to recruit more people as many of our current volunteers are retiring from active duty. Add to this the ever increasing demand on the Legion's services and you can see we need your help more than ever.  

With the Retford & District branch covering a wide area we would like to hear from anyone is interested in taking on the role of Poppy Appeal Organiser for the Retford area and surround villages. The Poppy Appeal organiser will work with & alongside Scott our Poppy Appeal organiser who is based in Harworth. Scot looks after Harworth and surrounding villages.
