On Sunday 30 July, the Oxted Branch Chairman and Standard Bearer supported the Reigate branch of the Royal Naval Association to pay respects to Commander John Kerans, CO of HMS AMETHYST during the Yangtze Incident in 1949.  Commander Kerans was a long-standing member of the Oxted Branch and is buried in St Peter’s Church in nearby Tandridge.
