D-Day Challenge - Sunday 9th June 2024, 12-4pm
This year, we mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, which took place on 6th June 1944. As we remember D Day 80, the Oxted Royal British Legion, opposite Master Park, is holding 2 events over the weekend 8th-9th June 2024.
The Branch is hosting a family fun day with a “Going for Gold (Beach) D Day Challenge”.

Without leaving Oxted, we are going to CYCLE to Portsmouth, ROW the Channel and RUN up Gold Beach.

Come along and pay per mile (donations only) to help meet our challenge. We aim to raise £155 towards the Poppy Appeal. |

Finally; we are asking all schools that have Year 7 and above to create a piece of art or write a piece of literature (short story or poem), depicting or describing something that relates to D-Day or World War 2 or the British Legion. The age groups are 7-9 and 10-11. There will be a prize for each group, this will be a gift voucher to the value of £15.
