VE80 2025
8th May 2025 a quiet local ceremony was held as part of the National event to remember the sacrifice of those during WW2 and celebrate the end of WW2 on Victory in Europe day.
On this 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe it is important to remember the sacrifices made by the wartime generation that enables us all to live today in peace and freedom. As the Chairman of the Oxted & District Branch of the Royal British Legion, I am grateful to members of the Parish Council, Veterans, my Branch Committee and the Clergy for enabling three short Ceremonies of Remembrance to take place today at the War Memorials in Oxted, Old Oxted and Hurst Green. At Oxted, also present were members of the Women’s Section Branch.
