Remembrance

The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.

In Willingham and Longstanton, the act of Remembrance is observed during the appropriate church services at 11a.m. on that day.

In Over, the act of Remembrance is observed at 11am on the 11th November at the War Memorial, when the Over & District Branch wreath is laid. It is similarly observed on Remembrance Sunday but at 2pm. At this time, wreaths from other organisations are laid, followed by a parade to St Mary's Church and a service of remembrance there at 3pm.

Please join us in this tradition. You will be very welcome.
