Plummeting from 15,000ft at more than 120mph might
not be a conventional fundraising technique, but it worked for our
branch member, Mike Leggett.
Mike, 64, and his son David, 23, did a sponsored skydive in
April 2012 to raise £800 for a much needed new Branch
Standard.
In the end they raised £1,500, which covered the cost of the
Standard and left plenty over for our work supporting the
Armed Forces community in Over and District.

"We were freefalling for almost a minute at 124mph. Quite a
feeling," said Mike, the caretaker of Cambridge Community College,
which sponsored him. He and David landed safely at an airfield in
Chatteris.
