The August meeting of the Orihuela Costa Branch of the Royal British Legion was a sad occasion for many as Branch stalwarts, Phillip and Janet Spear, announced that it would be the last such meeting that they would attend.

The pair have been involved in their local branch for many years, both serving in a variety of committee positions, including treasurer, welfare and social, but unfortunately, as getting around the area is becoming increasingly difficult for the popular couple, they have decided to rein in their public commitments.

The photograph shows Branch Chairman Keith Carter thanking Phillip and Janet for their loyal and valuable service to the Branch over their many years of membership. Everyone agreed that they will be sadly missed.
