Branch information

The Littleworth & District Branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) was originally established in 1956 to serve the communities of Littleworth, Norton, and surrounding districts near Worcester. Its formation was part of a nationwide post-World War II effort to build a network of local branches that could offer support, remembrance, and camaraderie for service personnel and veterans.
From its early years, the branch played a vital role in supporting the Armed Forces community, offering assistance to veterans and their families, organizing Remembrance Sunday events, and contributing actively to the annual Poppy Appeal. Meetings were traditionally held in local parish venues, helping maintain close ties with the residents of Littleworth and Norton.
In 2025, the branch underwent two significant developments:
1. Relocation: The branch moved its base to The Sergeants’ Mess in Norton, a fitting venue located at the former home of the Worcestershire Regiment. This move strengthened the branch’s historical connection to the military heritage of the area.
2. Name Change: Reflecting its broader community reach and new home, the branch officially changed its name to Norton Juxta Kempsey Branch Royal British Legion.
Today, the branch continues to serve as a hub of support and remembrance, welcoming both veterans and non-veterans alike. The branch remains deeply committed to honoring the sacrifices of the Armed Forces while fostering community spirit and engagement through regular meetings, events, and commemorations.
