Welcome to the Nord / Pas de Calais Branch of The Royal British Legion

Here in The Nord and the Pas-de-Calais we represent the Royal British Legion at remembrance ceremonies and commemorations throughout the year. We also support families of the men and women buried here, by visiting when no one else can. Here are a variety of remembrance events members have attended.

A rededication ceremony at Delsaux Farm Cemetery, Beugny,
for Company Sergeant Major (CSM) William Henry Bax of the 2nd Battalion, Ox & Bucks Light Infantry
After the ceremony the Mayor of Beugny hosted a drink in honour of CSM Bax

Rededication ceremony at Pont-du-Hem Military Cemetery, La Gorgue
for Company Quartermaster Serjeant Charles John Niven of the 6th Gordon Highlanders
whose grave had been newly identified.

Rededication ceremony at London Cemetery, Neuville Vitasse, for
Cpl Alexander Moyes (Mayes) Thayne, 2nd Dragoons, Royal Scots Greys
whose grave has been newly identified. His great nephew laid a wreath.

Rededication ceremony at Pont-du-Hem Military Cemetery, La Gorgue,
for 2Lt Sam Hughes and CSM David Jones DCM, 10th Battalion, Welsh Regiment,
whose graves have been newly identified.

Rededication ceremony, at Nieppe Bois (Rue-du-Bois) British Cemetery,
for Corporal Frederick Herbert Skinner of the 11th Battalion, East Yorkshire Regiment,
whose grave has been newly identified. In the presence of his family.
