Become a Member of the Royal British Legion

Joining the Royal British Legion means being part of a community that supports and remembers those who serve or have served in the UK Armed Forces, and their families. Members help make sure that support, remembrance and fellowship continue across generations.

What Membership Means

Membership of the Royal British Legion is open to everyone - you don’t need to have served in the Armed Forces to join. Whether you want to support Remembrance, help organise local events, or simply be part of a like-minded community, membership gives you a place in the RBL family.

As a member you will:

  • Be part of a nationwide organisation working to support the Armed Forces community.

  • Help with local activities such as fundraising, Remembrance services and Branch support.

  • Build friendships with others who share your interest in service and community.

  • Have a say in how the Royal British Legion works through branch meetings and conferences.

Member Benefits

When you become a member of the RBL, you also receive:

  • Priority access to tickets for the annual Festival of Remembrance in the Royal Albert Hall.

  • Regular news, updates and stories from the Legion through Legion Magazine and our membership e-communications.

Military Membership

If you are currently serving in the UK Armed Forces — Regular or Reserve — you can register for Military Membership free of charge. Military Membership gives you access to regular emails with news, stories and information tailored for serving personnel.

Please note that while Military Membership keeps you informed and connected with the RBL, it does not include full branch membership benefits such as priority ticket access for the Festival of Remembrance. To enjoy full membership benefits and take part in local branch activities, you will need to join as a full member.

How to Join

Becoming a full member is simple. Membership starts from only £22 a year, and you can join online through the Royal British Legion website.
