New Milton & District

The New Milton Branch was first established in 1928 and, over the years, extended to include a Ladies group and brass band.  These activities closed in the war years and the branch itself lost support. At some time (date unknown) a designated Legion Hall was built which burnt down in 1975 to be quickly replaced by New Milton Memorial Centre, where our meetings are held.  The main “Memorial Hall” is a much-envied venue, accommodating over 200 people and is a favoured for dances, plays and large-scale local events.  That and smaller rooms are available for hire.  The Centre incorporates areas displaying Legion photographs and other memorabilia, and some of the Foyer walls are covered in “bricks” donated by local residents in memory of military personnel.
