Following the sad passing in 2023 of our President, Andrew Hodson, the Branch decided to fund an award in his honour.
The Andrew Hodson Award for Outstanding Contribution will be awarded annually in October, Andrew's Birthday, to someone associated with the Branch that has gone the extra mile in assisting the Branch's commitment to supporting its community.
Recipients
2025 - Beth Slade From being asked to cover the role of Standard Bearer ..."for a few months" when the NMA Branch came into being, Beth's commitment to the Branch has deepened with time.
Having carried an RBL Standard since 2000, Beth was invited to carry the NMA Branch Standard in 2011 for an initial 6 month period and has not stopped! Numerous wins in competition followed, culminating in the National title in 2024, carrying the National Standard at the Festival of Remembrance.
Beth placed a close second at this years National Conference but retained her first place honour at the National Branches District competition. It seemed appropriate that the Andrew Hodson Award 2025 was presented to her at the conclusion of this competition.
We congratulate Beth for her dedication and her positive promotion of the Branch, both locally and nationally.
2024 - Bob Williams Bob volunteered to stand as the Branch Youth Engagement Officer many years ago and has provided sterling service over this time. More recently Bob has been challenged with poor health and mobility issues but he has not let this dampen his enthusiasm for the role or his commitment to the communities that we support. Bob has been, and continues to be a shining example to us all.

2023 - Jo Hodson in recognition of the inspirational leadership provided by her late husband as President of the Branch.
