Poppy Appeal Auction winner collects Fallen Hero Plaque
Back in November 2022 we auctioned a Tommy Plaque to raise money for the Poppy Appeal. The branch is delighted to have handed it over to the winning bidders recently. The story behind their generous donation is outlined below.
The Murcia Branch members and committee would like to say Thank You to them on behalf of the beneficiaries here in Spain for their generosity.
“We are delighted to have won the Royal British Legion Remembrance Auction. Our families have a long history of military service. My grandfather served as a pilot in the RAF and Jim’s grandfather was a Connaught Ranger.
Remembrance Sunday is especially significant for ourselves as our daughter Poppi Smith, was born on Remembrance Sunday 2016 and was 8 weeks premature and despite her turbulent start has blossomed into a beautiful, caring and intelligent 6 year old. The plaque has pride of place in her bedroom."
