Below is some information about who
they are and what they are doing.
A team of 5 cyclists from No 705
Naval Air Squadron at the Defence Helicopter Flying School, RAF
Shawbury, in north Shropshire, have completed a long distance bike
ride to visit 20 Fleet Air Arm sites en-route and raise funds for
the Royal British Legion.
The team began the epic journey at Royal Naval Air Station
Culdrose, in Cornwall on Friday 3 June 2011 and completed the
intended aim to cover 1000 miles in 10 days. The event was designed
to give the team an insight into the history of the airfields they
were visiting whilst raising awareness of the Fleet Air Arm and the
Royal British Legion.
