The Lyon Liberation Branch was founded in September 1994 on the 50th anniversary of the official
liberation of the city.
Anthony Brooks DSO MC had led the Special Operations Executive PIMENTO circuit from Lyon and
organised the first Anglo-American action in the city centre, the day before the French army entered,
on 3 September 1945.
The Branch covers both the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Regions with
activities and members from North of Dijon to Valence in the South and from the edge of the Auvergne
to the Swiss border.
