Alhama Street Animals Protection (ASAP).
ASAP is one of the local charities that some of our members are familiar with. This animal charity is a group which is working to improve the conditions of animals living in and around the Alhama de Granada area. Its primary aim is to help animals which have been abandoned. Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen's Families Association (SSAFA).
James Gildea founded the Soldiers' and Sailors' Families Association in 1885. In 1919, after the establishment of the Royal Air Force (in 1918), the organization became a charity called the Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Families Association (SSAFA). 1n 1997, SSAFA Forces Help was established when two charities, the "Forces Help Society" and "SSAFA", merged. On 10 April 2013, the charity's name changed to SSAFA as part of a rebranding aimed at improving awareness of the organisation's work amongst members of the armed forces community. The Informal English Speaking Group of Loja
This is a link to the local Informal English Speaking Group of Loja, the group is run by Peter Love (one of our members) and provides very useful up to date information on some technical matters as well as the social side of being associated with the group.
