On Saturday 13 April 2024, the Loja Branch held its inaugural Poppy Ball at Hotel Paraiso, near Moraleda.
The event was attended by 45 members and our guests. We were very pleased to have the company of several members of a newly formed branch in Riogordo and many new friendships were formed between branch members of both branches.
Our thanks to many local businesses and friends of the Legion locally, who donated prizes for the main raffle, where we had 17 prizes up for grabs. In addition, everyone's numbered ticket was entered into a draw, the winner took away a bottle of spirits.
The food and the service on the night we excellent as always, and the staff at the hotel were always pleasant and professional. A personal message of thanks was sent to the hotel staff, on behalf of everyone who came to the ball.
As you all know, all proceeds from the ball were being donated to the 2024 branch Poppy Appeal and on the night we raised €805.50, which is a fantastic total and there may be more donations from the photography on the night. Big thanks to everyone for their generosity.
