D Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations - 6 June 2024

On Thursday 6 June 2024, the Loja Branch met for a meal to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D Day. The meal was held at Hotel Paraiso near Moraleda and there were 28 members and guests attending. The meal was in the form of a BBQ with plenty of food available.

We also held two raffles, one which had several prizes such as bottles of wine, lemon meringue pies and a few other items. The second raffle was completely separate and the prize was a framed picture of World War II fighter aircraft. This framed picture was donated by Swingletree Photography and we

would like to say a huge thank you to Cathy and Martyn Willis for this donation.

We would also like to say thanks to all the other members and guests who donated prizes for the main raffle but also to everyone who gave so generously to make the event a success.

In total on the day we raised 220 euros.

The Loja Branch is fortunate to have such dedicated members and the wonderful support of the local residents.
