Victory in Japan Day Wreath laying Commemoration at Liskeard War Memorial.

There was a short Act of Remembrance on Sunday August 13th at the War Memorial at 14.00hrs.
The Wreaths were be laid in remembrance of all those who campaigned, suffered and made the ultimate sacrifice in the Far East during WW11.
The surrender of Japan took place 78 years ago on August 15th 1945 with the treaty signed on the 2nd Sept on USS Missouri.
It ended the dreadful war in the Pacific. Victory over Japan (V-J Day) is commemorated annually on August 15th and this was our nearest Sunday to pause and remember.
We invited all members of the public to join us for a brief act of Remembrance and the RBL Club was open afterwards.
