Sunday September 17th a short service of Remembrance and respectful reflection was planned at the War Memorial assembling with Cllr Simon Cassidy - Mayor of Liskeard and the Town Council host to a small group from Quimperlé, our twin town. However, the appalling weather meant we used the Public Hall which worked brilliantly and there was a dignified and warm sharing of respectful remembrance and friendship between our two towns and countries over the weekend and this is the opportunity for both the Mayor of Quimperlé and the Mayor of Liskeard to lay wreaths to honour those from both countries who gave their lives for the cause of freedom.
Veterans and Members enjoyed this special occasion with a get together afterwards in the Legion.
