Lisburn

Saturday 15th September 2018

Each year the Northern Ireland Branch of the National Malaya and Borneo Veterans Association (NMBVA NI) organise with kind permission of and full support from Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council an Annual Service to remember all those who fell in the Far East Theatre of conflict. It also includes those, like Major (Professor) Pantridge MC CBE, who survived the dreadful suffering and brutality they endured in Japanese Death Camps. It also remembers those who fell during the war against Communist Terrorists from 1948 – 1960, the Brunei Revolt and the Indonesian war of Confrontation from 1963 – 1966. The latter group all died to ensure that Malaysia is now a stable and prosperous Nation.
It was an honour to be part of the remembrance and wreath laying service at the Island Centre this morning, to remember all those that fought and paid the supreme sacrifice in all Wars and Far East Conflicts. 'Lest we Forget'
