NOVEMBER 2021 - REMEMBRANCE DAY

LEYTONSTONE Branch of The Royal British Legion would like to thank the people of Leytonstone and Waltham Forest for the wonderful attendance at this year’s Remembrance Service at Harrow Green War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday 14th November 2021.

The service was conducted by Rev David Britton, Fr Neil Walsh and various other clergy. There are so many people to thank I apologise to anyone or organisation I have missed out.

A big thank you to Waltham Forest Council and the Councillors without their support and the generous donation from the three wards it would not have been possible.

We would also like to thank the Police, Security and street marshals, Brian Hawkins Bugler and Wildings Sound System.

Wreaths were laid by Waltham Forest Councillors, Territorial Army and Police cadets, Police, Fire Service, St Johns Ambulance, TFL Emergency Response Unit, Chelsea Pensioner Bob Piper, The Pearly Kings and Queens, Sea Scouts, Western Front, Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes plus various personal wreaths to name but a few.

A great big thank you must also go to The Ex Serviceman’s Club in Harvey Road especially Sharon for putting on such a great afternoon and evening. The hall looked amazing and the buffet as always was delicious.

After laying a wreath at Harrow Green Memorial it was great to see The Czech Republic Army who made their annual visit to the club.

Over the last couple of years the branch has formed a very close allegiance with the club where the Royal British Legion now hold their monthly meetings.
