Latest Branch Headlines.
2025/2026 Membership Fees.
At The Annual RBL National Conference held in 2024, it was agreed that Membership Fees would increase by £2 per year for next 5 years, commencing in September 2025.
The current Membership Fee is £20 per year. With effect 4th September 2025, Membership Fees will increase to £22 per year.
Thursday 3rd July 2025.
At the monthly Branch Committee meeting during AOB........The current financial state of the RBL Club was discussed and the impact the situation was having on The Branch as a Charity. It is important that people are made aware that The RBL Club is a business (Ltd Company) all monies made by them go to the business, unless specifically declared funds are for a particular event. Whereas The Branch is the registered Charity and are governed by The Charities Commission. All Funds raised by The Branch go directly to The National Poppy Appeal. Any events put on by The Branch is done so by gaining sponsorship from local businesses.
2024 Branch AGM. (Key Points).
Thursday 5th December 2024:
The AGM opened with a welcome by Branch Chairman; Stuart Clarke. There was then an opportunity for Branch President; Cllr Mark Freeman to review the past 12 months and thank the Committee/Branch for all that has been achieved.
Alan Dill was confirmed in the role of Vice Chairman on The Branch Committee following signing of MS1
George Compton; former Branch Chairman and Committee member, stood down from the Committee. The Committee thanked him for his service.
Phil Howard stood down as Poppy Appeal Organiser after 3 years in the role. Phil asked to remain a Committee member. The Committee thanked him for his service and agreed he should remain a Committee member in a supporting role.
Laura Lovell; existing Committee member, assumed the role of Poppy Appeal Coordinator. Laura remains an active member of the Committee.
The Chairman announced that there were currently 2 spaces available on the Committee.
Jane Kierstenson announced that as a Branch Member she would like to join the Committee. The Committee took a vote and a unanimous decision was taken that Jane should become a Committee member in a supporting role.
There were no further takers for the remaining position.
The Committee on behalf of the Branch presented a "Certificate of Appreciation" to WO1( Rtd) Chris Kierstenson RN, in recognition of his media work to raise the profile of the Branch in the local community.
All Committee Members signed signed the relevant MS1 forms for submission to County no later than 31st December 2024.
