The Kenilworth War Memorial is located in a picturesque setting at the junction of Abbey Hill and Abbey end, surrounded by Abbey Fields and looking down the main road towards Warwick. The memorial was dedicated on Sunday, February 26th, 1922 commemorating the people from Kenilworth who died in conflict during World War 1.
130 names were carved on the original memorial in 1922. In 1951 the sides were covered by newly cast bronze plaques with updated lists for World War 1, with an additional plaque on the back with names of 68 Kenilworth men and women who died in World War 2. One more name from the Korean war was added in 1952. In November 2018 six new names were added to the names from World War 1 after research from local historian Susan Tall.
The monument is a tall stone obelisk with a low pyramidal top on a two-stepped stone base, it was designed by F W Doyle-Jones and has Listed Building Grade II status.
