POPPY APPEAL LAUNCH 2025

Saturday 25th October saw the Hythe and Saltwood Branch formally Launch the Poppy Appeal  in the presence of the Deputy Lieutenant of Kent, Major Dennis Bradley BEM and the Right Worshipful Mayor of Hythe - Councillor Stephen Bailey.  The Branch coupled the launch with a Branch Information and Recruiting Day.

Following a musical interlude provided by both the City Of Canterbury Band and The Shorncliffe Military Wives Choir, the Branch Vice-Chairman- Barry Vincer welcomed everyone to the event.

Following prayers and a reading my Branch Member Mr Gavin Bull the Deputy Lieutenant and Town Mayor were invite to donate to receive the first poppies of this year’s Appeal.  Bekkie Hassel, a former pupil at Brockhill Park Performing Arts College then sang to wartime favourites – The White Cliffs of Dover and A Nightingale Sang In Berkley Square, after which Ian Norman in his role as Poppy Appeal Organiser outlined the success of the 2024 Poppy Appeal.  Finally the event was brought to a close by the Deputy Lieutenant.
