Poppy Appeal

The President of the Hythe and Saltwood Branch of the Royal British Legion, Mr Joe Moran, a former Coldstream Guardsman laying a Poppy Cross, on behalf of all of the ex-servicemen and women of the branch, who gave their all, in the service of our country.

At a further promotion of the Annual Poppy Appeal in Hythe, there was a visit from Guardsman Tom Goodwin of the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards. The event, organised by Deputy Lieutenant of Kent, Major Dennis Bradley BEM DL, a former Grenadier Guards Officer, included visiting Aldi Store, the Town Square and the refurbished Hythe War Memorial.
We would like to thank Aldi for their assistance with the appeal along with the members of the Hythe and Saltwood Branch of the Royal British Legion.

The President of the Hythe and Saltwood Branch of the Royal British Legion. Mr Joe Moran, a former Coldstream Guardsman and Major (Retd) Dennis Bradley BEM DL (Folkestone and Hythe) attending a very limited gathering at the War Memorial in Hythe. This was a very quiet affair when you think about our normal event, due to the circumstances this year. Joe Moran laid a wreath in remembrance of all of the ex-servicemen and women of the Branch, who gave their all, in the service of our country. Major (Retd) Dennis Bradley laid a wreath on behalf of The Lady Colgrain the Lord-Lieutenant who is the County’s official representative of Her Majesty The Queen.

Hythe Town Youth FC placed memorial crosses for each of its teams at the memorial in Hythe for Remembrance Sunday. Brothers Charlie (U9 colts) and Ethan Evans (U11s) represented over 270 players, 50 plus volunteers, parents and guardians. The Club has provided community grassroots football in Hythe for 22 years from their home ground at South Road, Hythe. It supports the Poppy Appeal annually as a mark of respect to those who fought and died to allow our freedom today.
