This year Armed Forces Day will be held on 28 June. We also celebrate Reserves Day on the Wednesday before - 25 June - to mark the often overlooked contribution of all our Reservists.

Wakefield Armed Forces Day 2024 is a day of celebration and an opportunity for the people of Wakefield District to come together to say a big thank you to our serving Military Personnel and their Families, along with our Reservists, Veterans and Cadet Forces.

This hugely popular, free event will take place in the beautiful grounds of Pontefract Park which provides a perfect location for the Armed Forces to showcase their equipment and displays. Visitors can also enjoy a full arena programme, a Fly Past from The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, a Free Fall Parachute Display, Military Bands, Children’s Entertainment, Food Court, Historic Military Vehicles, and our well-attended Veterans’ Parade. There will also be a variety of military charities and veteran support organisations participating, who importantly provide much needed advice and support across our Armed Forces community.
This family friendly event really does offer something for everyone, whilst celebrating our remarkable Armed Forces personnel.

We do like a bit of value for money up here in Yorkshire and we are delighted to see that Wakefield Armed Forces Day is Free Entry and Free Parking; we hope to see you there!

Leeds Armed Forces Day 2024

Hosted by the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Leeds will celebrate Armed Forces Day on Sunday 30th June, 11am – 4pm, with a free event on Briggate in Leeds City Centre. The day will include a parade, stalls, stands and exhibitions, plus activities for the whole family to get involved with. The Army, Navy and Air Force will all be present.

Armed Forces Day Scarborough is a fantastic day out for the whole family. The day has a packed programme with flying displays, military parades, local charities and military associaitions.

The event will formally be opened at 11:00 with a civic ceremony with Mayor and VIPs. During the day there will be a presentation of veterans badges, and the day will finish with a Sunset Ceremony.

There will be over 50 stands, 20 military vehicles, and plenty of children’s activities!
