Saturday 27th October Haughley unveiled the ‘Knitted Poppies’ for the centenary of 1918 - 2018 which was the idea of Sheila Bayfield from the Haughley Knitting Group.
The project began in February when Shelia placed an article in the local parish magazine asking for volunteers. From speaking with her she was overwhelmed with support.
With tea and cakes available throughout the afternoon the event was well supported by the Royal British Legion with the proceeds being raised for the Poppy Appeal.
As well as the poppy unveiling there is an exhibition remembering Haughley's fallen located in the church.
