The Poppy Appeal in Hale

Hale Branch has its own designated Poppy Appeal area but also conducts the Appeal in the area designated as Woolton & Halewood which branches no longer exist. Our Chairman, Bill Sergeant, is the Poppy Appeal Organiser for Woolton, Halewood and Hale areas.  The Poppy Appeal 2019 runs from 26 October to 9 November.

Under the leadership of Terry Courtney, MADD Chairman, a sponsored cycle ride of 100km will take place on 8 November in Bahrain.   The money raised from this cycle ride, entitled 'Operation Pegasus', will be donated to the Hale Branch of the RBL for its Poppy Appeal this year.  Our good luck wishes goes to all those taking part along with our grateful thanks.

Anyone interested in helping in the Poppy Appeal, either for the whole year or just for poppy week, should contact our Poppy Appeal Coordinators (Bill Sergeant on 0151 724 3171).

Armadillo Storage Company Supports the RBL Poppy Appeal

https://www.bigyellow.co.uk/store/liverpool-south-self-storage/

This year, as last year, we are indebted to Dawn and the staff of Armadillo Self Storage (the big yellow building on Speke Road!) for their kindness in allowing us to store our Poppy Appeal paraphernalia free of charge.  Without their help we would be struggling - it's amazing how much we have to store in the lead-up to the annual Poppy Appeal and even after the initial two busy weeks we still have boxes of poppies, cartons of collecting boxes, dozens of wreaths and so on to be stored for the following year.  Not many of us have the space to do this - so in stepped Armadillo!  In addition to storage, Dawn also displays our poppies with a collecting box for her customers!

Many thanks Dawn and colleagues, for your invaluable help and support!  We know where will will be coming if we ever need storage ourselves!
