Gloucester City RBL

VE Day and Branch Centenary 8 May 2022

What an awesome day in 3 parts;
1. Commemorating VE Day at the Gloucester War Memorial,
2. A service of thanksgiving and celebration of 100 years since the foundation of Gloucester City Branch RBL at St Mary de Crypt Church with the service lead by the Rev'd Guy Treweek,
3. A wonderful buffet tea and cake at the Avenue pub, Bristol Road
Our branch patron was in attendance; the Rt Worshipful, The Mayor of Gloucester, Councillor Collette Finnegan and the Sheriff of Gloucester, Councillor Pam Tracey.
Our recent award was on display - The Freedom of Entry to the City of Gloucester.
We all signed the RBL County Queen's Jubilee book.
We all went home buoyed by the attendance and an incredibly successful day; the biggest thanks to our Secretary Judith Stinchcombe, the main organiser with timely decisions from our Chairman Rob Howells.
Julie Blyth was our bugler performing twice with great aplomb.
Our best wishes to the Rev'd Canon Nikki Arthy who after having organised the church service had to withdraw due to covid - we wish her all the best.
To Lee and Vicky at the Avenue Pub, many thanks for hosting us.
To all those who attended including from other branches, thank you.
To all those who didn't attend - you missed a great day 🙂
