Below is a list of dates for your diary on what's happening in the Frome Branch of The Royal British Legion over the next few months:
BRANCH MEETING
Our next Branch meeting will be held on Tue 15th Apr 2025 in the Chester House Social Club from 7.30pm. We aim to meet there on the third Tuesday of the month.
VE Day 80
We will be holding events on Thursday 8th May to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.
Songs and Scones at the Memorial Theatre
1940s style dress optional, but encouraged!
o 2.45 pm - Gather Frome Memorial Theatre
o 3pm - Churchill’s speech followed by wreath laying and ending with King
George VI speech
o 3.15pm – 1940s themed Songs and Scones in the Memorial Garden or Assembly
Rooms, weather dependent
Thanksgiving Service – St Johns Church, Bath Street, Frome
o 5pm – Gather at Frome Memorial for informal parade to St Johns Church,
reinacting the parade of 8th May 1945
o 5.30pm – Thanksgiving Service using the Victory Order of Service from 8 May 1945
o 6.30pm - Church bells of St Johns Church and the nation to ring out
BRANCH AGM - 2025
Tuesday 18th November 2025 in the Chester House Social Club - starting at 7.30pm
The Frome Remembrance Parade and Service is due to be held in the Memorial Gardens outside the Memorial Theatre on Sunday 9th Nov 25.
The parade is due to 'step off' from next to the Fire Station at 10:42 and the service is planned to start at 10:55.
We hope you are able to join us there and afterwards in the Assembly Rooms for some refreshments.
