4. MINUTES OF THE BRANCH MEETING HELD 18 MARCH 2015

Proposed by Margaret Stracey seconded by Faith Austin, that the minutes of the previous meeting be passed as read.

5. MATTERS ARISING

  • Alan Smith's funeral was well attended and went smoothly.

  • Letter of thanks was sent to Sheaf Training and was published on their Facebook site.

  • The Legion's Outreach Service for Sheffield has now added a monthly session at Penistone. Dates will be available soon.

6. CORRESPONDENCE

  • From County. The current membership forms are now obsolete and shouldn't be used. New members should be asked to wait until the new database is available. The first phase of the new DB is close to implementation.

7. TREASURER'S REPORT

 

  • RBL Account £378.44

  • 3rd Wednesday £5106 spent on Poppy Sales items so far

£3646 to be spent

The Treasurer thanked those members who have lent the fund money.

9. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT

 

  • There will be a Wreath Laying Ceremony for VEDay 70 at 11am on Sunday 9th May. This will be followed by a “Celebration and Living History” day at Sheffield Cathedral. 11AM to 4PM. Entry is free.

  • The Chairman spoke briefly about the latest Sheffield Group RBL Meeeting, Welfare Services and the latest Poppy Sales figures. Steve Bush has been selected as the new Sheffield Group Representative at County. Poppy money for The County has now passed the £2M mark.

  • The Sheffield Armed Forces Day Parade for 2015 will take place on 20th June. Full details will follow

  • The Branch Gazebo will be at the Sheffield Fayre in Norfolk Park on the August Bank Holiday weekend, Sun 30th and Mon 31st August, 10:30 to 17:30

  • A County Standard Bearer training session and competition is in the process of being arranged. Full details will follow when finalised
