Over recent years it has become popular to have displays of handcrafted poppies at commemorative events.  Ford & District RBL have been involved in a number of events where displays have been in evidence.

Bayston Hill Memorial Hall held a display marking the end of The Great War, where the poppies on display were provided by Bayston Hill Women’s Institute.  V E Day was commemorated during a period of National lockdown; however, displays were still in evidence; likewise at V J Day.

Once dismantled the crafted items from these displays were not wasted, but collected together with the help of a member of the Branch and sent to Biggin Hill for use in a display they were constructing.

It is community involvement which helps us to enhance the act of Remembrance which is at the heart of our being.
