On Friday 15th August Evesham & District Royal British Legion held a
V J Commemoration which took place at Abbey Park War Memorial
The service commenced at 10.45am.
We invited the Mayor of Evesham Councillor John Clatworthy, Mayoress Councillor Marion Griffiths, Deputy Mayor Bill Kimberley & his wife Celia, Lord Lieutenant Fiona Charney JP, Evesham MP Nigel Huddleston, Councillors Ann Lyon Robert Hale Sharon Hemming Sue Amor John Smith OBE & his wife Frances, Jennifer Johnson Chairman of the Evesham Branch RAFA Association.
Around 70 people gathered at Abbey Park War Memorial for the service, the weather was a hot sunny day.
The service was conducted by our Branch Padre Reverend Andy Green & readings from
