The Fallen
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
An extract from a poem written by Laurence Binyon published in the Times September 1914

On Friday 15th August the Royal British Legion held a
Midday National Commemorative Event to mark the 80th anniversary of V J Day & the end of the
Second World War.
Royal British Legion members & the general public were invited to attend this event.
This years V J Commemoration took place in Abbey Park at the War Memorial instead of outside of the Almonry museum this was due to the stone temporary being removed for restoration work.
The service commenced at 10.45am.
