Remembrance Sunday
14th November 2021
With the weather mild, the brass tuned, the shoes and medals polished, berets on and all stood to attention as we began our parade for the first time in 2 years!
And what a turn out it was!! the attendance was more than we have seen in previous years!
After a church service, the parade smartly made their way up Nottingham Road towards the Cenotaph.
Proudly leading the parade Is our own standard bearer Mark, flanked by 2 local army cadets.

Remembrance Day 14th Nov 2021
- Thank you to everyone who turned out on Sunday for the Remembrance Day parade through Eastwood. It was lovely to see so many people come out and pay their respects on this special day either as part of the parade or as an on looker. The weather was kind, and we as a Branch managed to identify many veterans in the crowd that have been keeping their heads down, and engage with them and their families. We also managed to speak to many members of the public and I hope that as a result more people in Eastwood have been able to understand the great work that goes on in the community by the Eastwood & District RBL.
If I may reiterate something that was said this week, we must thank every single volunteer that took time out of their days over the past 2 weeks to help collect and raise money. With out volunteers such as yourselves, the RBL as a whole cannot function.
Thank you.

A Massive thankyou to the 24 people that attended, far exceeding our expectations and setting the club up nicely for the future.
It was so nice to see old friends, and meet new ones!
Social interaction is important as is getting out and meeting up for a regular chat with old friends and making new ones, and on Saturday it showed just how important that is.
