East & West Ardsley

42nd Anniversary of Coach Bomb - 7th February 2016

Members of the East & West Ardsley branch together with their Standard took part in the 42nd anniversary parade and service of the M62 coach bombing of 1974 when 8 off duty soldiers and three family members were killed by an IRA bomb on their way back to Catterick Garrison.

The parade and service was held on the westbound services of Hartshead Moor on the M62 where each year a memorial service is held.

Approx 1,000 attended including a large of amount of veterans, 30 Royal British Legion Riders, and family descendants of all the pasengers on the coach.     Several Mayors took part in the service.
