100th Birthday Celebrations

Dulverton and District Branch of the Royal British Legion cerated its centenary with afternoon tea.
Members and volunteers who help with the Poppy Appeal were invited by the president to Littlebrook House, Exebridge, on Wednesday, September 15th.
Excerpts from the groups first minute book reveals that "Comrades of the Great War" met in Dulverton on August 14th, 1918 and then, September 16th, 1921, the group adopted
the contstitution of the British Legion.
The meetings were originally held at the Lamb Hotel by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Stanbury.
Surnames of original members include, Chilcot, Chanter and Nelder and Chris Nelder is a current committee member.
