Dorchester Branch was first established in August 1921. It has a proud history and the County Town Branch and Club thrived for many years. However, with closure of the club some years ago and falling membership numbers, the branch was unable to form a full Branch Committee and in 2019, it became a County Supported Branch (CSB).
At this time, our membership stood at 24 but after our efforts to re-establish the branch and its work within the community, we’re pleased to report that our membership now stands at 100 and the branch is actively involved in Remembrance and welfare activities in the Dorchester area, including a collaborative effort with the NHS in support of our beneficiaries.
We are very pleased to inform you that, at our AGM in November 2025, the Branch was able to reform a full Branch Committee and has fulfilled all the required criteria to revert to a fully compliant branch. The Branch Committee held its first planning meeting in early December 2025, including preliminary plans for social/fundraising events in 2026.
