Remembrance 2018

Remembrance 2018 was a special one due to it being 100 years since the end of WWI, as such there was a lot going on in Dawlish.

One of our wonderful members, Mr John O'Donoghue, wrote, produced and directed a musical variety show commemorating World War One. With the help of musical director Brenda Steel and Shaftesbury Theatre it was a wonderful play that we all enjoyed. The "Lest We Forget" show was sponsored by Dawlish Repertory Company and all the proceeds were donated to the Poppy Appeal.

The cadets, staff and volunteers at ATC 2401 Squadron created an amazing poppy man which we had a "guess how many poppies" competition. The total was 725 and the winner kindly donated her winnings back to the poppy appeal.

Also, this year we had several members receiving their awards for 5 years collecting for the Poppy Appeal. There were Mr Geoff Wills, Mrs Helen Wills, Miss Pauline Wills and Miss Lynn Cavill. We want to thank them for all their efforts over the last 5 years, we hope you continue for the next 5!
