The Royal British Legion is recognised as the national custodian of Remembrance.

Remembrance is part of modern British life, culture and heritage. It becomes a particular feature of the public calendar each year when public, private, formal and informal Remembrance events take place throughout the UK.

The Legion works to ensure that the people of the United Kingdom remember all those who have lost their lives on active service to the Crown, and honours the service of the Armed Forces and veterans, and the contribution of their families – our beneficiary community.

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for the peace and freedom we enjoy today.
