Remember to be a member of the club you must be a member of the Royal British Legion.
The 2024 Poppy appeal raised the grand sum of £128,202.25, the highest we have ever raised. The branch received two awards at the Northern Ireland RBL Poppy Appeal thank you event in Cookstown RBL on Friday 7 February 25.
· The first was for raising more than £25K digitally in the 2024 poppy appeal.
· The second was for raising more than £100k in the 2024 poppy appeal. The branch was the first in Northern Ireland to do this.
A big thank-you to all the volunteers who made this a success.
Of course, a special thanks to the people of greater east Belfast, Holywood and the Craigavad areas, without your support we would not be able to carry out the work we do.

We are looking forward to our centenary on 26 May 2026 and will be organising many events both for the community and our members. Please check this website nearer the time to see what is happening.

VJ Ceremony
The Royal British Legion (Cregagh, Wandsworth & Ormeau) held a ceremony at Picardy Avenue war memorial to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory over Japan on Friday, 15th August 2025 at 11am. The officer in charge was Stephen Scarborough, Branch Chairman.
With over 24 personnel in attendance, the Royal British Legion Standard was deployed by David Gillen. The service was conducted by Rev. Reuban Johnston of Willowfield Church.
The Pipers Lament was played by Mark Smith as several Poppy Wreaths were placed, including a wreath laid by Councillor Bradley Ferguson who was accompanied by Alderman James Lawlor.
The ceremony concluded with a rendition of “God Save the King”.
After the proceedings had finished over a dozen personnel travelled to the EJ café for coffees and a light lunch. The café staff very kindly held a minute's silence at midday.
