Dear RBL Members,                                        Date: Wednesday 09th. July 2025

As indicated at the last Branch Meeting there was a favourable response, by members and guests present, to the suggestion of organising a Canal Boat trip on the Kennet & Avon Canal - boarding the motorised traditional widebeam canal boat at Hungerford Wharf.

Date: Wednesday 09th. July 2025.

The journey will be - Copythorne Parish Hall to Hungerford Wharf and return by a hired 17-seater minibus.

Canal boat's name is: 'The Rose of Hungerford'

The duration of the canal boat trip: 1 hour 30 minutes - 1130 - 1300 hours - commencing from Hungerford Wharf at 1130 hours, proceeding to Dun Mill Lock on the Kennet & Avon Canal and return to Hungerford Wharf.

Facilities: The 'Rose' can carry a maximum of 40 passengers, with a range of refreshments on board.
There is a wheelchair lift for anybody unable to board and disembark the boat using steps. The lift will only accommodate self-powered chairs - not electric or scooters.

Costs/Tickets: The overall cost of the round trip which includes: Canal boat ticket + Minibus hire + Fuel for minibus works out at £25 per person. (taking into account that all seats on the minibus are filled).

Please kindly let me know, initially, if you have an interest in taking part in this outing as soon as possible, either by telephone, text or email,  so that, in the first instance, the required numbers of canal boat tickets can be purchased/reserved before places on board are taken up.

This outing should be a great day out to enjoy beautiful countryside, see historic buildings and a wide variety of wildlife.

All are welcome, please tell your friends and relatives of this proposed outing.

Any catering arrangements for the day can be discussed/considered at the next Branch Meeting - Tuesday 17th. June.
