History of The Royal British Legion, Claines Branch.
The British Legion Branch started in Claines pre-war but today’s Branch was officially founded in 1946. The early members clubbed together to fund their own social club which was originally housed in an old wartime hut opening in 1948.
There are around 430 members in the Branch which has existed for over 75 years.
Today as The Royal British Legion we deliver a range of activities in support of the Armed Forces Community.
These include:-
- Legion Awareness Events
- Telephone Buddies
- Home & Hospital Visitor Scheme
- Bereavement Support
- Local Touchpoints
Anyone needing support or interested in supporting us at any events should contact a Branch Officer
