Dedication of the new branch standard

Welcome to the Cinderford Branch of The Royal British Legion

Dedication of the Standard.

On Sunday, 15th May at 6.00pm the new Standard of the Cinderford Branch of The Royal British Legion was dedicated in a service at St John’s Church, Cinderford. The well-attended service was conducted by the Rev Mike Barnsley, the Chaplain of the Cinderford Branch.

Air Vice Marshal Ian Corbitt handed over the Standard and charged the new Standard Bearer, Andy Tooze, with the responsibility of caring for it. The retiring Standard Bearer, Ross Stevenson, relinquished the post after 20 years’ service.

Group Captain Anny Reid spoke the Exhortation. This was one of her final tasks as County Chairman as this month she goes on to become a Trustee of The Royal British Legion. The Branch Secretary, Heather Harris, gave a reading. The Branch was very pleased to be supported by the Standard Bearers from Lydney.

We would like to thank all those who attended, and joined us in celebrating at the Soldiers & Sailors Club.
