The Poppy Appeal in Cheriton and Morehall
Huge Thank You to everyone who helped and supported the
VE DAY 80
Garden Party at All Souls Church
Look in Photo Gallery for photos of the Knobbly Knees Contest, as well as pupils from All Souls Primary School. The children had brought along some beautiful collages for us to display during the afternoon.
We were joined by a few veterans, who spoke a little of their experiences, including being evacuated as a child, during the war.
(Full permissions for the use of photographs, were sought prior to the party, from the Head Teacher, Lisa Ransley, who accompanied the pupils.)
We are very grateful for donations from Morrisons, Tesco, Seafarers, Morehall Butchers, Rios Ice creams and Brunch and Barrel, ( who donated the beautiful sponge cake, for guess the weight of the cake )
Members of the All Souls Church choir and Drama Group sang hymns and old wartime favourites, which was enjoyed by many, in the sunshine!
Rios Ice Cream Man managed to stop off a couple of times during the afternoon, too.
An amazing total of £370.58 was raised for the Poppy Appeal!
Poppy Appeal volunteers are always required
Anyone interested in helping should contact our Branch Joint Poppy Appeal Organisers
