2014 Honour Walk & Fun Day

This was the fourth year we have held our Honour Walk in aid of The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and the event has grown each year. This year it started from The Chatteris Town Football Club.

There were bouncy castles and children's games; sideshows, which included Chatteris Remembers - a show of work by the pupils of Kingsfield School, Chatteris on the soldiers commemorated on the Chatteris War Memorial, which has been done to mark the centenary of the outbreak of World War One; also the Pathfinders Museum from RAF Wyton.

A mini Spitfire was also on show for children to sit in, our favourite Alpacas and several local craft people came along with stalls. The Branch Chairman ran the BBQ.

We also had the local Sky Diving club drop in, literally, as four parachutists landed on the adjacent football field.

With the weather a little overcast, we were pleased to see 35 walkers taking part. Sponsorship monies are still coming in but we hope to have broken the £1,000 barrier this year!
