2014 Camborne RBL Lights Out Ceremony at Camborne Parish Church
On Monday the 4th August Camborne RBL held our Lights Out ceremony at Camborne Parish Church rom 10 pm to 11 pm. We were honoured to have the Deputy Lieutenant James Piran Williams and his family join us. We had some 100 persons in the congregation and all were very moved by this special service. The West Briton covered the service and photographs appeared in the Camborne edition of the West Briton newspaper.
- The Deputy Lieutenant James Piran Williams wrote: -
I would like to say how moving we all found the vigil in Camborne last night. It was sensitively put together, and left much time for contemplation. The reading of the roll of honour of those from Camborne who had given up their lives and the extinguishing of the individual candles, brought home the magnitude of that terrible conflict and the impact it had on towns and villages through Cornwall. Please pass my thanks on to the Rector and also to the British Legion chaplain. It was a great privilege to be involved in such an important occasion.
Yours James
