The following day was a mournful morning, probably very apt for the Armistice ceremony. In Byfield we were very pleased to welcome a Commander from the Royal Australian Navy who was in the vicinity and had noted our events programme from this Web site before he came up-over. Our bugler, Peter, now 91 by the way, still had plenty of puff and sounded the Last Post, followed, after the two-minute's silence, by Revellie...

The weather bucked-up on Sunday the 12th but with a cold wind from the north tempering the warmth from the lkate autumn sun. The attendance at Aston Le Walls' Remembrance Service wasn't affected however and the village was very well represented.

In Byfield... The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts provided a good turn-out and laid their individual wreaths; sorry about the snaps below but in the first pic, if you look very carefully, or maybe zoom-in (try keeping the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard pressed whilst rotating your Mouse wheel), you should see our RBL standard on the extreme left, then to the right the green Scout and yellow Cub standards, with the youngsters gathered around.
