The children, teachers and assistants of Byfield Primary School assembled at the Byfield War Memorial at 1030hrs on Armistice Day 11/11/16...

A short service was then conducted by our District's Chaplain, the Rev. Stevie

Some of the children then placed small wooden crosses, each remembering an individual from our village who fell in both world wars.

Poppies made by some of the children were also put in place

and The Last Post was then sounded by Peter Bickley

and, after the silence Reveille was played, closing procedings.

On Remembrance Sunday a similar ceremony was conducted, with the Roll of Honour being read

and Wreaths being laid
