REMINDER: Our Branch Meetings always begin with The Act of Remembrance followed by The Loyal Toast. Those present are listed and apologies recorded. As those items are a formality, the Minutes' précis published here will not particularly mention those. Similarly, as this is a public domain, the Chairman & Secretary reserves the right to edit from the précis any items considered sensitive.
December: Tuesday 5th - The Griffin, Chipping Warden - SPEAKER? five individuals, on varied experiences!
November: Monday 6th - Byfield & District RBL A G M in Byfield Village Hall's Lower Annexe.
October: Tuesday 3rd in the Royal Oak in Eydon: SPEAKER Mark Spindles about moving Colchester Garrison lock, stock and barrel.
September: Monday 4th in Byfield Village Hall's Lower Annexe: SPEAKER Alan Bailey on his twenty years in the TA.
August: Tuesday 1st was held in The Royal Oak in Eydon: SPEAKER Russ Mallace about a trip around South Africa. Sorry Woodford Halse, we tried to come to you but all your venues were spoken for on a Tuesday evening, & for many moons onwards too...
July: Monday 3rd was in Byfield Village Hall's Lower Annexe and our SPEAKER was local Author Robert Cubitt
June: Monday 5th - at The Griffin, Chipping Warden: Although we did not have a speaker for this meeting, there was a slide show of our visit to Bruntingthorpe on 29th May.
May: Thursday 4th. In The Royal Oak in Eydon: ex Grenadier Guardsman turned artist Dougie Adams held a Q&A session for us.
April: Wednesday 5th: In the Lower Annexe of Byfield Village Hall. SPEAKER Terry Hoyle told his tale of how he went Into Africa, via Brazil.
March: Tuesday 7th. Byfield Bowls' Club (behind the Village Hall): Our SPEAKER Peter Stratton "Tales from the Footplate" told us about the early days of railways in South Northants, and the men who worked on them.
February: Monday 6th. Byfield Village Hall Lower Annexe: Our SPEAKER was Alan Carroll who talked about the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust and his time in the icy wastes before the BAS was formed.
January: Monday 9th. 2017. Venue, Byfield Village Hall Lower Annexe.
